What Is a Sentence?
A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought. Every sentence has a subject (who or what the sentence is about) and a predicate (what the subject does or is).
Sentences begin with a capital letter and end with proper punctuation, such as a period, question mark, or exclamation point. Without these parts, a group of words is not a complete sentence.
Writers use sentences to share information, ask questions, give commands, and express ideas clearly.
This skill hub connects to our full collection of Sentence Writing Worksheets, where students can practice writing complete sentences through guided activities and structured exercises.
